Marketing Prompts of the Week for Writers
It’s a new week, and that means it’s time to take action beyond the script! Together, we are going to focus on making practical connections and building opportunities that will kick your screenwriting career into the next gear.
Here are your practical, actionable screenwriter marketing and career prompts of the week:
Monday
Contact a producer you admire and ask if they have a passion project they need help developing. Offer your skills, talent, and expertise to create initial material for their potential project. A lot of times, being part of someone else’s vision can lead to unexpected opportunities.
Tuesday
Take some time to define and describe the ideal audience for your project. Knowing exactly who the end viewer is will not only help you craft the story but also make pitching it more effective.
Wednesday
Email an actor you know and see if they’re interested in collaborating on a monologue or duologue. There are so many talented performers out there looking to work with creatives like you—it’s a great way to bring your words to life and make new connections.
Thursday
Write the logline for your project and send it to a trusted colleague for feedback. If you need help crafting it, check out our video on how to create a compelling logline in just two minutes—link is in the description!
Friday
Go online and review other screenwriters’ bios. Take note of what works for you and what doesn’t. This will be a huge help when it comes time for you to write or update your own professional bio.
